HiSO

Headquartered in Toronto, with offices in Berlin and a production facility in Poland, HiSO has become the go to source for shearling outerwear. In 2002, inspired by their exposure to the family business at a young age, twin brothers Karl and Mark Matar took on leadership of the company with a new mission in mind- to reposition and elevate the brand- thereby introducing the new name HiSO (short for Hide Society) – a now beloved global name. Their goal was to revive the classic coat and to blend fashion with function. Their vision brought forward innovative designs while still maintaining luxe shearling materials and exceptional craftsmanship known to the brand. With the desire to broaden their product offering, the rebranding also led to expansion into the world of precious fabrics (cashmere, wool and alpaca outerwear). HiSO acquired a Toronto based facility where all precious fiber outerwear is now produced.
